Hi!

Welcome to the Wester Ross Round-up 😄

What should you expect?

Wester Ross news is put together by me Ally Tibbitt, a journalist who lives in the area, in partnership with the Gairloch and District Times.

The plan with this newsletter is to send out a short hand-picked list of need-to-know updates about the Wester Ross area. It shouldn’t take you more than five minutes to read and the idea is to try to send it out a couple of times per week.

So much local news can be locked away on Facebook or spread over multiple different websites it can be hard to keep track of the important stuff. If you don’t have time to check lots of websites - or if you are not even a member of them it’s easy to miss something really important.

This newsletter will help you by filtering out the noise, the clickbait, the spam and the scams. It will summarise the latest stuff you need to know and provide links so that you can find out more if you need to.

It is not trying to compete with other local news publishers. In fact this newsletter would not work without them. If it takes off, it’ll send lots of readers to their websites.

 🫶 How you can help

It takes several hours a week and a small amount of money to keep this newsletter going. If you find it valuable, please consider becoming a paying supporter.

To make the Wester Ross Round-up sustainable for the long-term we think we’ll need at least 120 people to chip in with a small monthly payment. By signing up you’ll give us the confidence and the resource to keep going.

Paying members will also get early access to ocassional original, exclusive stories about the area too.
